Main observation deck — 346 metres

The main deck is a doughnut-shaped gallery that wraps around the concrete core. Floor-to-ceiling windows face every compass direction, and on a clear day you can see the vapour plume from the Niagara gorge roughly 130 km to the south-east. The deck is climate-controlled year-round and holds about 400 visitors before the operator caps entry.

Glass floor — 342 metres

Four metres below the main deck, a section of the floor is replaced by laminated glass panels. Each panel is a sandwich of five layers of tempered glass, each layer 32 mm thick, bonded with structural resin interlayers. The assembled panel can support a static load well in excess of 5 000 kg per square metre.

From the inspector: I have stood on it thousands of times during inspections and watched visitors lie flat, jump, and bounce—the glass flexes about 2 mm under a 90 kg person and springs back instantly. The surface gets scuffed by shoes and is machine-polished every few weeks.

Upper pod — 447 metres

A second, smaller elevator inside the core carries visitors from the main deck up to the upper pod at 447 m. The ride takes about 45 seconds. The upper pod is an enclosed observation ring roughly 6 m wide. On clear days the view extends to approximately 160 km—far enough to see the spray haze above the Falls and the silhouette of the escarpment beyond Hamilton.

Revolving restaurant — 351 metres

The restaurant sits five metres above the main deck on a ring-shaped platform that rotates on 114 steel rollers. A single electric motor drives the platform at a speed that completes one full revolution every 72 minutes. A dinner reservation includes main-deck access at no extra cost.

Outdoor harness walk — 356 metres

The harness walk is a hands-free circuit on a 1.5-metre-wide metal-grate ledge that wraps around the outside of the pod at 356 m. Participants wear a full-body harness clipped to an overhead rail and walk in groups of six. Weight limits: 34 to 136 kg. Height limits: 122 to 198 cm. Operates roughly May through October.

Accessibility notes

The main deck, glass floor, and revolving restaurant are wheelchair-accessible via the main lifts. The upper pod elevator fits a standard wheelchair. The outdoor harness walk requires participants to walk unassisted and is not wheelchair-accessible. Service animals are permitted on all indoor levels but not on the outdoor ledge.
